Hello, I've just finished my animation  for uni and I need to ask some questions about format.

I've rendered the whole thing out as PAL sized TARGA files and put it all together in premiere. I exported this as a Quicktime file and I dumped it onto Video tape with pretty good results.

Now, I want to show it online, so what format should I render out of premiere as so that the quality is decent and the playback sweet? What kind of settings should I use as I have absolutely no idea.

When I get this done I can let you lot look at it and crit me to death!

And finally, I want to put another version on CD so that I can just save it to another computers hard disk and play it back at cool quality. So what size, and settings should I do with this?

I realise this contains far to many questions but I'd appreciate any help!

Cheers!

I suggest you download the Divx codec and play.

Okay I've got the Div x codecs and I know I use them so that I can play back videos compressed with Divx. But how do I compress my movie to Divx format? Can I do it from premiere?

Also will this compress the sound as well?

YES - divx 5 installed the codecs in your OS, so now when you choose avi (in premier) and then head over to compressor settings you will see the divx codec and all its options in the list.

Premier 6 comes with RealMedia and WMF compressors/tools also but I did not have much luck getting a good bright result there.

Go back to the divx site for more FAQ's and let us know when you publish the animation.
