Title: The Man of Steel - Christopher Reeve
Name: Sam Hanover
Country: United Kingdom
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, ZBrush

For as long as I can remember I have always admired the image and character of Superman.
Having recently finished my course at University I set myself a task to model this character and I chose Christopher Reeve’s image of superman as my focus.

hello there looking nice. i have a few crits. the armers look a funny shape. and also the chest looks a bit square. also the chest is to high. i think you need to look at proportion and antomy. there are some very gd books about there. pm me and I will tell you the names of them.

EthicsGradient: Thank you, in recreating an actors appearence it means everything for a fellow artists to say you have captured the image of the subject

cyrex3d: Thank you

Ashleysparling: Thank you, I used to study at UH where you are now, Human anatomy and muscle groups is always a difficult task to model especially when a pose is being created but thankfully I recieved alot of refrence material of this pose. The arms and chest were a difficult area as its hard to make a model of a superhero without wanting to give strong muscle definition but I stayed close to the actors build.

In regard to the chest you'll notice that the grey and wire render of the model show two different sculpts of the chest, the grey shows a much wider and fuller chest but in keeping the model as close to Christopher Reeve's actual build it was the smaller and higher formed chest that resembled his posture and physique more accurately.

Thanks for the offer on the anatomy books.
