Does the brush you start with have some embedded values that do not change when you copy setting from a different brush?

I just can not get my strokes to match a previously created stroke even though I've copied the stroke settings..or is that brush settings? Surely different brushes were used for the old and new strokes.

Any help?

I don't know if there are any attribs that are not copied. That's strange because when I transfer attributes from one stroke to the other everything comes out pretty fine.
Most of the time I must make ponytails and hair pulled backwards. No "fancy" hairdos.
