anyway, here is my first model that I spent a lot of time on and the first model I made that I felt was done seriously. I'm still a student and working at it, but I'd like some input if anyone has time.

The bones were build as nurbs then converted to polys. The skin is polys, spines nurbs and the texture map is ungodly huge. no bump. I haven't yet done muscelature(sp?) but I plan to. Built in Maya

and could some tell me how to post a higher quality piture? the limit seems to be 20000 but I've seen some very nice images

nightmare, that's funny. The neck looks weird, like it's bending the wrong way, though I'm not basing that on refrence, just on initial reaction. Other than that I can't see anything bad about it at this resolution.

I really like the style you having going but I have to agree that the neck looks a little bit odd. Maybe a bit too long? Also the hind legs seem a bit skinny. I don't know if you used it or not but something I recomend is to get some source pictures or art of horses and use the image planes function that Maya provides for you. I think that it may help alot. I really like the ribs and the wings though. Especially the holes in them. The only other crit that I have is that it looks a bit flat in some area. Maybe if you manipulate the verts and pull out some details throughout the body. I think it's a really good start. ^_^
