Bummer. I think you can stil buy SLA from Maxon, but you would still need the serial number. If you open Help-->Personalize you'll be able to see the first 11 digits of the serial number. Maybe you could call Maxon and see if they can't help you out. If you're calling from the company, and the product is registered to the company, explain the situation .... It's a possibility anyway.
darn...i figured i was going to have to do something like that. oh well, if anyone else has any ideas let me know.
thanks man

Hi,
SLA for Release 7 has the version number 2.5.x whereas the one for R6 is 2.0. YOu can't get 2.0 for R7 and it doesn't make any sense since it is free in R7. Simply download the latest update to 7.303 from the Maxon website, it's free.
Cheers

you don't need a serial number for SLA as far as I can remember.
unless what the guy is really trying to say is that he doesn't have C4D installed at all but knows there is a cd around the office somewhere.
which makes an entirely different story.

I think what he's saying is that his company has a legal copy but no one there knows what the registration number is. I can't remember if you need a registration number to download/install 7.3, but if you do then he's got a problem.
if I remeber right you don't. But dude just see if you can dl it. then tell us if it works.

Nope, you don't need to provide a serial number to download updates.

you dont need a serial number, but you do need the original cd. and thats the prob...nobody here knows where it is...theres not even anyone here anymore who knows what cinema is
is there somewhere where you can download sla and install it somehow?? otherwise i think i'm out of luck
Hi,
you have to contact Maxon to obtain a new CD. SLA is not available alone and it wouldn't work if some would copy the files, since it requires a different version of R7 then you have.

yea, i kinda figured i was gonna have to break down and call them.
oh well, thanks for all the help everyone.
the full time 3d guy isnt here anymore
and the CD is missing...... hmmmmm .. could it be .... naaaaaa ...
no its for real...the comapny i worked for went through a pretty bad period, all the art people were let go back about a year ago and things are just now picking back up....although i am currently the only art related employee (not sure if thats good or bad).
but anyways, nobody has a clue what cinema is, but it is loaded on a computer up there, and i would think its a legit copy.
anyways...

I think what pit was trying to say that the 3d guy might know where the cd is :)
CD's are cheap tho,so as long as you have the reg info and everything,
getting a new one shouldn't be impossible...
Just give maxon a call...they're good peoples :)
