Blackhorse 06-05-2003, 03:43 PM Hi,all.
I make up my mind to post something better from myself.
so this time I try.
he is from my recent homework for expression.but I use it and creat this pic.
first, I build the model in Maya, then make the hair by fur.after rendered it, I put it in the Photoshop and made the rest work, such as the face dust, the tattoo, and the mood.
I hope you like it.
Thanks.
BTW, the tattoo is chiness bird, I wounder it works it this pic?
well, thanx for viewing.

I'm surprised nobody has responded yet. I like it better without the tattoo. The tattoo looks like it was just added in photoshop or somthing. The modelling looks great, and the hair is awesome!

That's a pretty nice image - How did you get it looking that soft quality into the render - that strikes me more than the model. The render is quite the noice.:p

Thanks.
folical9 -> Thanks a lot. maybe I should add some more details in the pic, such as a cigarette, scars, more wrinkles, and so on. give me some advice.
harvest -> the hair was made by fur. adjust some parameters, such as the specular, the color, the length, etc. I am the beginner of using fur. so it is just a try.LOL
TheGreenGiant -> lol, I just use the fake global illumination. and the simulation is a very simple setting, so the result is not good enough. then I put it into photoshop to enhance the mood which I wanted to be. that's it.
PCdog -> you are a funny guy. Superb! you should post more works.
cutepixie ->cheers, I also like the lips as well as the eye lips.

i think he looks pretty nice :applause: ...i agree that he looks better without the tatoo, especially since it sounds like you did it post-rendering, it might look better if it was a texture...or am i just reading this wrong...only other thing i can say is that the creases above the eyebrows seem a little out of place since he isnt raising his eyebrows and there are no creases in the middle of the forehead...dunno...sleepy....

Wrinkles & scars, hummmm...I suppose you would need more wrinkles on his forehead, but I would think that would be just about it. Maybe the tattoo would look more natural if it were burnt into his neck?
Maybe it's just me, but after looking at it again, does the skin seem kinda metallic? Again, it may just be me or my monitor.

this time is a try. I mean it.
I eagerly want you to tell me where is not right or not to be a nice pic. I think if you tell me I would learn more about creating.
I put a urgly cigarette on the not-posed-right mouth. :O
tell me, if you have time.
thanks

Intersting work, i think first that it was a painting because of the overall softness. Good job!
My only crit would be that it looks far to retouched/airbrushed to really look 'solid'.
Is it finished?
