View Full Version : image planes question ..
i'm modeling a head and i got 2 image planes setup .. but my problem is my ortho views (front, side) move extremely slow when i try to pan and move my view port.. does anyone know why? is the resolution on my image planes too high?
i remember seen awhile back that someone had made a script for image planes setup. if anyone knows about it can u plz point me in the direction .. thx

if you've adjusted the alpha gain of the image plane it will slow down the viewport. if you are using really high res images it will of course slow down the viewport. i normally keep image planes for modeling less than 1024 and maya doesn't slow down while modeling with imageplanes that size loaded. at least not on my system. theres an old trick that might be worth trying of creating a new orthographic camera for the front, side and top and assigning the imageplanes to THOSE cameras instead of the original. i have no idea why that trick works but i remember it working a little bit on my old crappy system with an older version of maya.
