Thanks, dude!
It wasn't that bad at all to make. I took a photo of a tire (can't remember which one) with a straight ahead view of the treads. I took one "segment" of the tread, the basic tread design that repeats around the tire, and modelled that with polys. Just some basic extrudes and stuff. Then I used an array to copy that around about 60 times or so. Last, I used a curve to create the side walls of the tire, and just made sure that all the tread pieces intersected that so there weren't any gaps.
I wish I could make more sense but I'm kinda tired. Feel free to ask any more questions, and check this flat shaded view....

Brent

Xilica -> The VW sign is just a sphere, cut in half, and then squashed down a bit. There's a pretty basic reflective shader on it, and in the reflectivity channel, there's a black and white VW logo with a 2d projection -- so the reflection only shows up where the image is white. The material color was black anyway, so the rest of it just comes out a painted black color. It's just basic file texturing kinda stuff. I think the VW logo came off of an image search on google.
Does that sort it out for you?
