At this moment i am trying to figure out the best way to export animations that were made in Maya into .swf (flash file)

I know there is the Cambridge Animo Swiffworks and the Shockwave exporter..

But both of them are not stable or efficient like the swift3d renderer for MAX.
And also, i want to export to FLASH , instead of director (shockwave stuff).

So how can i make this work ?

I also tried rendering the animation in .avi and then making it export to .SWF in Adobe After Effects...
This results in a very unhealthy file size, and also the outcome of the swf is crap...

Please...can someone help and give advice on how to do this then ?

There MUST be something out there that i can use to export to flash.......right ???

You can always try tracing INSIDE Flash itself. I know that the Poser Pro pack is really good for exporting to Flash. What about rending an avi and then putting it in your MAX and then exporting it?

With MAX i mean 3d Studio Max

And doing a trace bitmap in flash of a 100+ frame animation - frame by frame is a bit "troublesome" ;)

I'll try and see if there is any program that exports ANY .avi / .mov / or other animation directly to SWF.... that would be a cool thing come to think of it....

Anyone else with other advice ?
Thank you in advance !

Check out Wildform Flix. That converts avi's to swf pretty well.

Hey man, your best bet is a sweet little proggie called Vid2Flash- this thing rocks! Very stable and so simple to use... just make sure u first render an avi clip of whatever animation scene u have in maya, and then it transforms the clip into a perfect .swf file --it's made by javakitty, go here for more info:

I checked the program and altough it is very interesting it seems to me that it looks alot like FLIX.

Making it possible to export .avi movies to flash.

Altough FLIX does offer conversion to vector graphics, it still doesn't have the quality i am looking for when you compare it with the swift3d plugin for 3d studio max (or plasma from discreet)

I should've refined the subject and put `export to vector ` instead.

Anyway.. still looking and hoping that someone know a good way to export directly to vector graphics within maya

A while ago i've seen third party's plugins on internet that actually do provide the thing that i wanted (converting animations to vector graphics and can directly be used in flash).

It's just that the plugins where made by small companies and some were from solo-script writers.....

Ofcourse, with my temporary memory all damaged, i don't remember anymore where i can find them (they were still in development stage and months have passed, so it's worth giving it another shot right)

If someone can help me further.... BIG THANK YOU IN ADVANCE !
