View Full Version : Help with Render in Maya
papersp 09-12-2008, 08:17 AM Hi all,
This is my first post here in this great site.
Does anybody know how I can get a similar result in Maya?
Light Streaks 1 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/christopherhester/414029039/sizes/o/)
It's kind of light effects and I am not going to animate.
I am using MacBook Pro and Maya 2008.
Thank very much :)
I appreciate

possibly with maya cloth, but looks like something more suited for after effects or another painting/animation package...

You must use a compositing software to have this effect (I suppose you can do it directly in Maya but it's a little complicate).
Render a maximum of differente passes and blend them in "additive", add ray effect, shine, glow, etc...
You have to use your artistic eye because (excepte a tutorial that I don't know), there is no "all-builded" method to do that.:arteest:
If someone find a tutorial, I'm very interested :)
Have a good day! :wavey:

Theneverman and Freel@ancer thanks for your replay.
I found a link with a similar effect. It was made in After Effects with a plugin
named "Particular" from trapcode.com
Unfortunately , I don't have that plugin and i am not familiar with AE.
I have been trying in Photoshop.

Take care :)

If you are familiar with photoshop you will with AE.
AE is a "school software" (for me). He can take great things quickly and a lot of "motion designer" use it for his facility.
So it's typically the kind of things you can do easely with AE.
