View Full Version : problem with radiosity
It seems that in some sections of an architectural walkthrough that I'm doing are "freezing" up when rendering about 1/5th of the frame. It only occurs on the ground floor, and gets 1/5th the way through and says its "rendering prepass". Any ideas? I'd say it's a bug but I may just be missing something..

It seems it was choking on 5 diffuse depth, set it to 2 and its all good (and alot faster). I still think its strange it was completely stopping at 1/5th.

Did it completly stop or just paused?
When I do renderosity rendes, C4D sometimes seems to pause during rendering prepass, sometimes for more than 5 minutes and then resumes rendering.
Well, it takes a while at first to do the pre-pass just before rendering, then begins to render, and at 1/5th the way through it would completely stop. In one case we waited an hour where it was just sitting there.

sounds like all your settings are way too high. can you post up your scene rendering stats please?
all frames wont render at a constant speed. different parts of the render may slow down, for what ever reason, to almost a halt. not a bug, just slow rendering.
post up stats and we'll try speed you up :)
As I said, it was the diffuse bounces for radiosity, which i reduced from 5 to 2.
