A little background...

The first part of this film could be considered an insult and/or abomination to the film industry from an outsiders perspective. There was little preplanning, if any, and the direction, cinematography, titles, etc is something a 12 year old could do.

But that's what made it so awesome.

It was an english final in high school, and was thrown together and rendered the night before using Video Explosion Deluxe. It's not meant to be understood by anyone outside the crew, most of it is inside jokes and stuff we've jotted down on paper while goofin around on a saturday night after work. The prequel, however, is going to be a little better. Not by much, but will definitely incorporate more structure, planning, and better CG.

This is partially for those interested, but mostly to help me keep track, so please keep the "thats ridiculous" comments to yourself... trust me, I know it is ;)

At the end, I hope to get it burned to DVD. I wanted to do HD or BlueRay, but considering the only thing HD is going to be what I render out of Maya, its not going to matter anyway. I recently purchased the CS3 Production Suite, so I'll be using Premiere, After Effects and Encore for the video side, Maya 8.5 and Vue 6 for the CG.

The opening sequene will start at a city front, zoom through the buildings, ending up over the mountains.

So the beginning has shifted a bit to a flythrough ending with it being a fly caught in sensei's chopsticks.

I've got the camera path blocked in, and am starting to model details along the way.
