STORYBOARD/CONCEPT ART for "The Magic Wand"

Here is a nice Storyboard TEMPLATE for those who wish to use one.
LINK (http://www.schoolhousevideo.org/Pages/Storyboard.pdf)

Why we need help?
We will be doing some storyboards for the next fxwars challenge.
Becuase of the extreme complexity of the challenge I wan to provide some pre-production boards
to all participants to help them & inspire them.

WHAT IS THE FXWARS?

FXWARS is our ongoing visual effect challenges of the CGTALK forum. The idea is to PUSH what can be done in terms of visuals.
Click here for some cool eye candy: FXWARS Forum (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=139)

We have done 21 challenges so far.

Ok what is the challenge about?

Well the participants will be able to do a fx sequence based on the idea of Magic Wand
(Keep in mind that this is a fofum for all the family)

The FX sequence requires that the "hero" character be a live action character.
(Please remmeber this when storyboarding. We will be recoding two actors in one room)

The type of entry will be either

SINGLE SHOT
FULL SEQUENCE
All the work will be based on the following topics:

Misc...
Duel (Warlock fight)
Magic gags (Imagine a shot of a guy using his magic) This type of entry is perfect for Single shots
Some ground rules:

NO COSTUMES (Good God no), we dont need another Star Wars kid >>LINK<< (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_kid)
No established characters.

The sequences would be made with live action with visual effects.
if you are doing a storyboard, keep in mind that people might use your boards for filming.
Ok what can I do now?
Well we are giving a LOT of leeway for artists & concepts artists to post concept art/ storyboards based on the aftermentioned rules .

If you have an idea for a sequence or some concept art post it on this thread. I will later post some possible scenarios..
My advice, KEEP IT SIMPLE

So
if you are interested, Post it here
if you have already some sketches, Post it here
if you have already some REAL WORLD costume design, Post it here
if you have already some Concept art, Post it here

You have No Time Limit for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
NEW RULE: You may also re-post a copy of your finished drawing a this forum:
Member SKETCH Collection (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=272)

Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming

I tried to think of some more exciting way of using the 'magic wand'-tool, to make it suitable for the FXWar. It might be really interesting to see this concept in a vfx-sequence! :bounce:
