View Full Version : Hair transparency map problems

I'm using a transparency map in my hair shader to get this stylized look for each strand. The problem is that each strand has this weird loop at the top where the texture connects to the next hair strand. I think the problem is somehow related to symmetry, which should be turned off (I have symmetry unchecked everywhere possible). As you can see, the texture map has only a single blade of wheat, so I have no idea where this loop connecting into another blade of wheat is coming from. Any help?

Ah, I figured it out. While the hair simulation has all symmetry turned off, the texture tag was set to Symmetry! That fixed it!

But still, a weird problem for those that want symmetry.
