Title: Personal Library Project - Day
Name: Dave Dind
Country: Canada
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop
This project is an exploration of the idea of having a personal library/study in a home. I'm completely in love with the idea and plan on building one in a future house!
I was going for a Myst like sense of intrigue with this image; the sense of familiarity and that someone may have been there recently, but left in a hurry. I plan on delving further into the Myst "style" (I guess you'd call it that) with future projects that will hopefully be up to par with the images found in the second game, Riven.
I managed to finish this piece over the course of a few Friday's and, when I could make the time, some weeknights too. It was created with Maya 8 and rendered with Mental Ray.
Any critiques on the rendering and/or lighting would be greatly appreciated, as I'm really striving lately to improve those aspects of my work.
Cheers!
