View Full Version : R11 demo render output size limitation?
e[dub] 09-09-2008, 07:22 PM I have downloaded the demo (R11.010) and opened an old file to test out. The original output size was 3200x1800 pixels, and I left those settings unchanged. When I started the render only a 640x400 image was rendered.
Is there a size limitation for output using the demo? - if not, then how do I render a larger image (consistent with render setting output size)?

There is a size limitation with the demo.
The limitations of the demo are listed on the download page.
This functionality is available for 42 days after activation. After this period the demo version can still be used but the features listed above will no longer work.
The CINEMA 4D demo version's project files are of the same format as the commercial CINEMA 4D version, which allows files to be exchanged. Rendered images and animations or painted textures contain no stamp or watermark. The render size is limited to 640 x 400 pixels.

ok, thanks.
I had downloaded the first version of the demo but didn't get around to installing it because I just got married :) I guess I overlooked the text describing the size imitation when I used the online updater.

640x400 was a good choice for Maxon. I still render a lot of projects at 640x480, just 80 pixels shy of being able to render a project with the new fast R11 GI.
And then I realized, that was probably very much against the rules, so.
Back to 10.5 for the time being.

I don't think there are any rules as such (haven't seen the EULA on the demo so I could be wrong), the demo runs out after a while and the idea is to get you hooked after all ;)... though I gotta reiterate the obvious to everyone - Never change tools mid project (it's a recipe for pain and disaster)!
'] because I just got married :)
Finaly a usefull excuse :)
Congratulations
