So, first off, does anybody know of a link that would just explain what each of the attributes for nCloth would be listed. I know that would help out a ton.
More importantly, the actual project.
Trying to put a t-shirt on a character with nCloth. So far, most of the project is going well.
However, when I simulate to the start pose, because his arm are down, the neck piece streches around the shoulders and falls down. I've tried upping the strech resistance, and I played around with a bunch of the attributes without being too sure of what they do exactly.
Then I tried transform constraining the neck verticies of the shirt to the character's neck. When I did this, the rest of the character just went nuts for some reason.
Anybody have any ideas on this?

Thanks.

~Andy

Most of the parameters are covered in the Help manual,... but it might take a while to understand what it is the manual is trying to explain. (in other words,.. sorry I can't really help as I'm trying to get it figured out myself as well)

DigitalTutors put out a good Dvd set regarding Ncloth. Covers the basics pretty well and explains most of the settings and some more common uses for them.

Here is a link to what you might find to be helpful, or maybe very helpful, or.. maybe not at all.

Sorry, I don't want to mislead you into suggesting anything to try, I'm still learning myself.

Best of luck

Digital Tutors has a great video for getting started on nCloth from an artist standpoint. It's well worth investing a few dollars in it, and then I would check out Duncan's Blog on the Autodesk Area website. He always has some great thoughts, tutorials and is of course one of the main scientist guys behind the whole nucleus solver. Good Luck.:lightbulb

I am an idiot, someone already posted all those ideas. I'm sorry, well I guess that is two of us confirming it then.

It sounds like you have several attributes that are not set properly. The number one thing to work out is the scale. How big is your character? How big would he be in the real world? nCloth by default measures in meters.

Oh, and check out www.speffects.com. The products are not free but do have the answers you are looking for. :)

Select the verts on the shirt around the neck and shift select the body. Then do a point to surface constraint. This constraint also has a glue strength attribute that can be adjusted.
