Here is a link to a pet hobby project I've been working on for a while... (don't know where to post this, really. I guess it's as finished as it's gonna get...)
www.monsterland.se/crunchtime (http://www.monsterland.se/crunchtime)
(You need shockwave installed to play)

THE STORY:
You know that feeling when you return from the restroom and all your co-workers' brains have exploded, and they have been transformed into blood-thirsty zombies, infected by an intergalactic computer virus disguised as check-this-out mail attachment? This is it.

Great game! I made it to the third level! Not enough staples though! LOL...

that is so great I can't even handle it, seriously.

nothing like a 3 zombie mass murder by fire extinguisher when you only have 1 shot left. !!

gooooood job

This is awesome! I made it to the third level before I ran out of staples and got eaten, but I enjoyed the experience.

Hay, that's cool! Nice character design and graphics. I wish there were more than three levels though.

cool! very nice concept & very well executed!!

one thing: at a screen res of >1280x1024 the game window looks like a thumbnail ... is there a way of making it any larger? like a doublesize-button or something :D

well done!

fun... really well done. now make the rest of the levels and charge people for them and make some money... heh ;)

Thanks for the nice comments! I guess I'll have to consider creating some more levels... but then I'll have to also create a really nasty middle manager-end boss!

Hmm... I'll look into a double-size option, but am a little concerned about the performance. Its already a bit sluggish on older systems.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping for some kind of super co worker zomie to fight. But instead of more staples why not add a staple remover for close range fighting? Or just have the zombies take one less hit? It's a fun game, kept me busy for a while.

haha...love it..yeah like other said....MORE STAPLES!!

and now for some critics:
its looks like the character it self is three layers upper body, feet and shadow.

but its looks like this shadow is on top of his feet...

...love the game...

hmm.. I guess i'll have to put some more staplers but I'm afraid it would make the game too easy. The first two levels can actually be finished without shooting a single shot...

aazimkhan: Yes, you're right. The character is now created by two sprites. It would be quite easy to separate the shadow onto a third layer, but I didn't think anyone would notice it since his trousers are kind of dark... you have good eyes!

Thanks for your encouraging comments!

I don't think more staplers are a good idea, it would make it too easy.

Yeah, After playing it about 20 times, you don't need more staples....Just more levels! You're game is awesome.

Not necessarily more staples, but fewer shots to kill them. I love it but the controls are a little difficult. I have to hold two keys to get him to go in a straight line... and when you get stuck in a mass of zombies, it can get confusing as to which two keys I needed to press. :scream:

All in al though, good work. I look forward to more from this.

more weapons!!!!

you should have a basic weapon that you never run out of ammo

erm

maybe you could slap them with a ruler if you run out of staples

kick chairs at them to block their path

or give him a bazooka

I'll have to agree with dave_baer, the controls takes some time getting used to. I don't think there'a a better way though.

And more weapons are allways a plus.

OK, since you really seem to like the game, i will try to make a new version soon with more levels, weapons, end boss etc, but it will take some time as I'm off for holliday the next couple of weeks.

victor throe: Bazooka coming up!

dave_baer/skellington: I'll try to make an option between the current and isometric control.

Stonepilot: I'm freelancing as a game designer, but has mainly worked with educational child games. That explains my urge to create a really gory zombie game, i suppose...

Cheers,

David
