This is a bit of a weird post but it's because my memory is so utterly hazy.

I wonder whether anyone else saw this tute. I don't remember the site I saw it on even, it was at least 4 years ago now.

The basic premise of the tute was that there was a red truck/ute which was to be blown up. I think the animation of the truck may have been set up already. Then from there you pretty much learnt what setting to apply for the explosion. I'm pretty sure this was done using afterburn.

I think the tute was written by an Australian who was a particle system specialist who was working in Hollywood. His name may be Steve. But again, the memory is hazy.

If anyone remembers this tute and can give me their version of it, or have a link to it, or perhaps know of this Aussie particle specialist then that would be great. Also, if this thread isn't the right place for this post then please tell me where I should be asking.

Cheers,

Hey thanks for that Johnathon,

I did remember the website which is 3dluvr and I did find that it was Allan McKay who did the tutes there. But as you also found out it wasn't one of his tutes. I found the site and I didn't find the tute. Maybe my memory wires were crossed.

Thanks for figuring and asking for me though, much appreciated.

Maybe I did an Allan tute and I just saw a little movie of a red truck exploding. Nevermind.

I did get in contact with Allan years ago and he's an incredibly helpful and friendly bloke.
