I am using unwrap2 plugin to unwrap my model character in LW so that I can texture it.

I wonder what level of Render SubPatch Level should I use before using unwrap2? Should I leave it unsubpatched at 1 (no subpatched at all), or use 2? Which level is better to make a painting template?

I did some tests, and I notice that unwrap2 compress certain parts of my characters, such as the nose area and ear. Is there a way to fix it so that my model can lay out all flat nicely by unwrap2?

Or you wouldn't advise using unwrap2 at all to texture human character in LW?

Well, I haven't used the plugin that you are talking about, I only use the native LW UV tools, but regarding the subpatch level, I always unwrap just as is - no further smoothing. I hit TAB and unwrap. Remember, the more polys you have, the more painful the editing of the UV map will be - so go ahead, and unwrap at whatever level you want, but be prepared to sit and edit :)

At any rate, you always have to edit your UV maps anyway.
