Hey all,
Ive been using maya on and off for a couple of years but have never dived into the depths of lighting or shading...

Im trying to make an animation for a companys website but i cant seem to get the rendering/lighting part down. Im trying to make a disc glow dark blue and revolve around a sphere. I cant get the disc to leave a trail or glow in maya. Ive got it glowing in final cut pro but this doesnt help me because I cant find a decent tutorial about rendering in layers and compiling. Heres what I have so far:

Maya Scene Render:

as you can see its glowing alright, using the glow special effect, but i cant seem to figure out how to get it to glow blue.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

got the glow! now for the light trails... Jeremy Birn told me I could possibly motion blur the crap out of it...but im not familiar with the settings on motion blur...and i dont really think it would be wise or efficient to use the trial and error method...could anyone help me out with this or point me in the right direction? Thanks!
