=>[edit: i redid the render and added a little GI, the last setup was real quick and i noticed it looked poorly for the logos display]

Instead of starting another thread, i am just gonna throw another version into this thread.
Basically for fun we're thinking of putting an easter egg Rally Tank into the game. It's just a silly, but fun idea.
And i'm no car pro (just like i'm no tank pro), so don't yell if i don't have the right stickers on it :)

Hey, it's not an "official xbox" game (in the end it will be playable on the xbox though), but it's being developed by a small group of guys who can't get into the industy b/c we
"don't have experience"

So we started making our own game to see/prove that we have what it takes.

Here is the model i made for the 'good guys' tank. It's the US m1. The 'bad guys' is the soviet T72.

It was made in maya, and has a 512x512 map and is 2500 polys.

Nice model you got there dude! I only have a suggestion on the texture though. First I think yu could add a little more "wear" around the armor on the sides and on the front of the turrt. It just looks too clean.

BTW, do you guys have a website up for this game you are making?

thats badass! Great model. Also thats awesome that you guys have taken the initiative and decided to make your own game to prove yourself instead of feeling sorry for yourselves because you don't have the experience. You have my respect.

isnīt xbox a quite strong machine? 2500 polys isnīt that low then? But what do I know :D

thanks for the comments guys.

Yeah, 2500 can be viewed as too low, but there are 2 reasons:
1. We plan on having like 10 - 15 tanks on the screen at once.
2. It's a small project that we're doing in addition to working full time jobs. So we don't have the 20 person team to optimize the code like Bunjie or other companies do.

I plan on making variations of this tank too, so as soon as i finished up those textures, i'll post it up!

and umm... the M1 vs m1a1 well yes, i was just abbreviating. i'll post the reference pics later

the M1A1 has a flatter turret which is wider and a wider body too. plus its lower profile. and why T72, the counter to the M1A1 is the T80-U.

Your taking things too literally Rei:rolleyes:
These are simply the models that the developer requested.

Thanks for the tips Rei. In the game the tanks will be generic, you will just select them by which side you wanna play, so the models were just used for basis and proportions.

Hey i put an updated image of another version of the tank.

Bredro, i haven't seen your updated one yet. I'm gonna PM you so we can talk on AIM. And i don't know how the hell you found this thread... purely coincidence??

And this is the working site so far:

For those who wanted to know (it's still in the early stages)

Hi Neil

No haven`t updated yet..haven`t had much time to work on it lately.Actually a friend found this thread and notified me about it.
I would have never found it otherwise.

I would like to get in contact with you though..as I have some texturing issues you might be able to help me with.
