View Full Version : Boosh Dialogue Clip

I've decided to work on a dialogue for this assignments (1st time). I'm going to try to apply subtleties to this piece.
For this pass, I'm tying down the poses and timing. The poses can be improved (no finger or expressions added yet), but the timing should be there abouts.
Playing with camera angles too, this is also my 1st time doing camera cuts.
Thus far, blocking only.
For those of you who are curious, this clip is taken from the Mighty Boosh. Love that show!

here's more defined poses and better timing.
Do realise that I need to have a bigger contrast between the movements of the 2 actors. Will make the guy on the left move slightly slower and smaller (movements) so that the focus is on the guy on the rite. At the moment the focus is lost sometimes..

I think you're on right track, it's looking good.
I'd like to see an extra second on that first shot with the guy on the left saying "What do you mean?" and some extra time on that same guy after the line "What do you do about it?". As you plan to do, keep the focus on the guy on the right, but for these two moments I think you should shift the focus. The latter will give you an opportunity to do a great facial expression on the left guy thinking about "what he did about it".
Just some thoughts. I look forward to seeing this progress.

hi AndrewMartin, thanks for keeping interest. You're right, there should be some emphasis on the left guy at those two moments. I have left some space for some nice expressions during those 2 moments, but I prolly wont be cutting in another camera shot on the 2nd of those (after 'what did you do about it?') because i feel that there may be too many camera transistions if i do? As it is, i quite like that short pause there..
Anyway, here's just some more inbetweens. Let me know what you think!

Here's the clip with some lipsync. It can be improved on.. Some parts are not as relaxed as I'd like them to be. Do comment!

here's the 1st pass for splining with better timing.
Things left to do include
- arc polishing
- facial expressions
I'll try to get this done by the end of the week.. Cheers!

Here's the latest update, cleaned up the arcs and overlaps for the right side guy.
Next up, facial expressions.

Hi all, thanks for keeping interest.
I've spent the past few days adding fingers and facial expressions, and I'm quite happy with the result. Hopefully with this final preview I am able to sell you my acting. it's not emotional, its not over the top, but it is subtle and entertaining.
Cheers! Let me know wat you think!
