I work on a videogame and am currently creating the animations for a belt fed machine gun and have run into a large issue. I need to make ten "states" of every animation that can be done with the gun (reload, changing fire modes, pulling open the bipod legs, firing, etc) for when the weapon has a full clip, an empty clip, and everything in between. It needs to look seamless when the player changes the fire mode with three rounds left on the belt.
Is there a better way to do this without duplicating ten seperate animations for each state?
For example, if I make one reload animation in Maya I want to be able to export those ten animations on that "base" animation.
