Is their a way to attach an offset curve to the original curve?
Example if I build a room with a curve as the inside wall. Then offset that curve to form the out side wall. I would like to attach them so that when I loft they will be one surface.:D

A think a have a better idea for walls. See if this works on your situation.
1. Create the original and the offset curves. Don´t attatch.
2. Select both and extrude.
3. To close the cap, select the curves again and make a planar surface.

Thanks for the post. That is what I have been doing. But I convert the surfaces to poly's to bevel edges and texture. I also want to convert to poly's so I can boolean openings for doors and windows. I do not want to use curves on surface, I'd rather use booleans with poly's butbooleans work better with solid/closed poly's.:D

Well, look at this, I converted the NURBS surfaces into Polys and dia a Combine and a Merge Vertices. I think the polygon is closed now.
But when a did a Boolean Difference, I got this weird shading (it has happended before to me) that shows in the viewport and in rendering. Any idea of where´s the mistake?

Thanks,

1. Delete history
2. Check for double vertices (using the Heads up display option - Poly Count and selecting the corner vertices)
3. Did you also close the "bottom" of the wall? I did.

try setting the normals to "set to face" which should make them nice and flat shaded and then try setting the normals to something you like better like conform or soften. though set to face might be what you want for a room. anyways, if that doesn't work try triangulating the mesh and then try quadrangulating it. and if you still have problems try exporting it as an obj and then reimporting it after you delete the original.

Thanks, Arangel I have been able to recreate the method you suggested for constructing the walls and the booleans work fine !!:bounce: :applause: :applause:

Thanks TheWraith

The Normals > Set to Face command solved my problem !

arangel,

I have construct another a room with the method which you posted and I am having problems with lofting the top of the walls.
I have enclosed an image. Can you help me find out what I am doing wrong. I will have to go out of the office and will not be able to reply to your post until later.

What I did
create cv curves
close curve
offset
loft
choose isoprams on both walls
and then loft
the loft comes out messed up?

Thanks in advance

I did this workflow:

1. Create Curve
2. Close Curve
3. Extrude curves
4. Select original curves and loft.
4. Select Isoparms at other and and loft (linear option).
