View Full Version : Cinematic Game Icons - character/vehicle/environment - edgeloops
edgeloops 06-04-2003, 02:19 AM This is perfect. Two programmer friends and i were just talking last weekend about making a game. With this month's challenge, i can kill two birds with one stone. Ok, here's the breakdown: You play as a peaceful human that comes upon a Mech buried in a mountain. You come to find out that your village is among the last of a peaceful race of people who rebelled against the evil army of machinery beasts (ala star wars). The Mech you find is the remaining ship used in the great war against the machines. It is your goal to use it to search for the history of your people and in the end to save the universe. Combine a little Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow, BlasterMaster, and something like a Gundam, with all sorts of crazy power-ups, and with the emphasis on customized play control and item collection. That's the game.
here are some sketches:

And still a month to go! Although i have had an unusually large amount of free time lately.. I hope it keeps up.
I couldn't figure out how to get this forum to display flash, but here is a gif instead:

If that si the walk animation then  You really need to learn how to make a walk animation. The knees should bend moving forward and lengthen out when landing the foot.

Looks great! Really caught my eye on the CGChallenge site.
I do have one crit... His fingers are too slender and far apart from each other... As if it is just a skeleton without any flesh (or metal) on it... Might want to look into that. The fingers are also too "straight", I see that you started posing him, you might want to relax his fingers into a more natural pose.
Anyway, just 2 small things I noticed... The rest is great!

lookin' nice.... are you going to dirty and scuff it up when you texture it, or will you leave it all clean and pollished?
