View Full Version : Glass isn't transparent - Why?
RP-350Z 06-03-2003, 11:55 PM I'm working on a building and I've got the celing mapped to a glass texture, however when I render and try to look through 2 panes of glass I can't see through them. I see through one pane of glass fine. Below is what I'm talking about. Can anyone help?

may be you have to increase ray-depths under render-options.

Maybe the reflection of those windows glass is to high for that shot. And check the refraction...
What are you using to render? Raytrace? Check the refraction rays depth as Gunter said.

Thanks fellas, turns out it looks good when when under render options then transparency I switched from with refraction to no refraction.

But try with refraction...Index of refraction for Glass: 1.5
Good luck!!!

If you're using refraction make sure the glass has thickness, i.e., two sides.

Doh, Ya know what? That was my problem all along, the glass didn't have thickness. But I'm working on that now. :) Thanks for all the help.
