just posted to have my thread ;)

will add the story and concept later

iC4

my picture will be a shot from a 1st person shooter game-cinematic.

it will show the main character in a game typical environement

story:
The human destroyed themself several times now. And they are still fighting each other. Because of that god has send YOU, a powerfull war-angel! Your work is to stop the men behind the war, with or without violence. Destroy their weapons and kill them.....before it is too late!

hope it's understandable....not my native language ;)

little character description:
it will be a angel (in my mind angels are beautiful women :D), wearing some armor with some cool guns.

I think the character will be in a destroyed city which fits into the scenario.

now time for some modeling :)

War-angel!
I can honestly say I've never seen one of those, about as original as it gets.
Go for it.

cool idea!:buttrock:

so its gonna sort of be like devil may cry, but with a skirt and wings.:bounce:

Nicodemia
06-04-2003, 01:50 AM
You can always count on beautiful women or big guns to draw a crowd. Could be onto a winner here. :) Nice concept.

Nicodemia
06-04-2003, 01:52 AM
Oh, and btw, i've never seen a war angel either! :D

iC4

glad you like it!

here is the first start...just making the basic body shape

if the image doesn't work please let me know it......had problems with my domain in the last time :hmm:

Great start man! Body looks pretty good so far, and I like the idea. The Spawn comic had a "war angel"...Angela I think...might be good reference.
My only crit is....the boobs seem a little too floppy. Try to maybe perk them up a little. Other than that, looks good.

iC4
06-04-2003, 06:32 PM
thx! working on that, it's only a start :)

not an update yet, but something I started playing with because I was interested in how it would look like.

here is a little wing test. I think with some modifications and more work it will look pretty good. of course the shape will be more interesting

Wow thats quick work on the wings. I think her nipples might be a bit long. Minor point tho because i take it they'll be covered by cool-looking armour. Nice work. Can't wait till its finished.

Looks to be a good start, but I've gotta call you on the wings.

No textures allowed. It's one of the rules. That means you've gotta model them. Of course, you may know this and just have them there for placement....

Jus thought I'd mention that in case you're not aware.

Keep at it!

4) Fur plugins are allowed for short hair, however longer hair HAS to be either modelled or clip/opacity mapped.

well if I can use planes with alpha maps for hair I thought I can use it for wings too? of course the color will be removed

Nicodemia
06-05-2003, 09:26 PM
It says in the rules that 'if you wish to do so, full texturing is allowed'
I realise that no hair plugins are allowed but it says clip/opacity maps are allowed and so are textures.

dominicqwek
06-05-2003, 09:32 PM
hey its lookinf pretty good. seems like you're off to a quick start. :) the breast are a tad bit saggy though. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

Dave Black
06-05-2003, 09:37 PM
See? That's what happens when I don't do my research. I know textures are allowed, but cannot be used for the final shots.

I don't know where my head is. Forgot about the fur issue.

Appologies.

Again, best of luck!

dom: thx, I think you are right, I should rework the breasts a bit

iC4
06-06-2003, 12:48 PM
Feanoro: you can texture your model if you want, but I think in the final voting you have to provide a model without textures

Jelwa: thx, working on the head at the moment ;)

Mcf: danke

antnik: thx, I'm doing my best :)

so here is the next stage of the head.....still aloooooot to do

Aearon
06-06-2003, 10:09 PM
very clean mesh :)

let me point out a problem though (i hope you don't take any offense if you already know most of this ;))

it looks like you have complete edge loops running around both the mouth and the eyes/lids, you should adjust the structure of your mesh in those areas, otherwise it'll be hard to get those shapes right

here's (http://maxrovat.sns.hu/subdiv/vig_mesh.jpg) a great example of how you can do it

iC4
06-06-2003, 10:20 PM
thx, I'm actually at the point where I figured out that it doesn't work with those loops :surprised

but adjusting some loops shouldn't be a problem ;)

thx for the picture

nevertheless a new picture ;)

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web10.jpg

iC4
06-06-2003, 10:22 PM
damn I shouldn't make a smiley in each line :surprised

ahh..again....

Aearon
06-06-2003, 10:28 PM
yeah i'm trying to restrict myself to the end of every paragraph ;)

not always successfully...

sorry for being off topic

and you're right, it shouldn't be a problem - as i said the rest of the mesh looks top notch :applause:

*edit* ooh well, if every paragraph is a one-liner my rules don't make so much difference hu? :banghead: <<<

iC4
06-06-2003, 11:47 PM
hehe, seems we have the same problem :bounce:

here are some new loops, I think it's better now....at least it's easier to define the shape

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web11.jpg

iC4
06-07-2003, 12:04 AM
oh forgot the smoothed version

here it is

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web12.jpg

akocan
06-07-2003, 12:15 AM
Hello iC4-..
Very smooth and nice modelling so far but there's something which bothers me. But I can't figure it out.
I guess it the place from chin to back of his head. There might be something wrong there either the proportion or something like that. Or maybe I assume it's like that because it doesn't have ears and hair??

Modelling, zupra! once more..!

Colin de bink
06-07-2003, 09:19 AM
hey I found a tread in the modeling section where some people are talking about Topology research (some pro's in there too :) )

http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38469

it is helping a lot and it made me see that my Topology totaly sucks so i'll probebly be rebuilding my head this weekend

btw I love the body you made
but I have a coment about your head (hope you dont mind) I think the head is to boney, the bones are stikking out a little to much, eyebrow-noseridge

iC4
06-07-2003, 01:56 PM
thx for the link, thats a great thread

here is the updated head, will start the ear now - for me it's easier to define the head more if I see how it looks with ears ;)

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web13.jpg

requiem
06-07-2003, 03:09 PM
the model is looking nice, but the head has a major issue. the distance from the chin to the eyeline should be equal to the distance from the eyeline to the top of the head. right now the distance from the eyeline to the top of the head is a bit short. it gives a sort of cropped look.
keep it up. cant wait to see the finished version.

iC4
06-07-2003, 04:12 PM
aaah, that helped alot! thx very much

iC4
06-09-2003, 01:01 PM
didn't have much time this weekend :thumbsdow

but here is the latest progress......started modeling some cloth

I'm not sure if I should go with a futuristic armor type or with a classic leather outfit...since there are allready some armor wearing babes in the challenge

what do you think?

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web14.jpg

DimitrisLiatsos
06-09-2003, 01:20 PM
Hi iC4 ...just a thought although i am not an anatomy specialist...your model's belly - legs and waist sim to be in the same level ...what i mean is that i think i should see her waist bones a little...just a thought!!!:wavey:

iC4
06-09-2003, 09:49 PM
yah...I'm also not an anatomy specialist (too bad...), but I think you are right, will add those bones later (thx)

atm I'm working on her boots

here the first picture

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web17.jpg

DimitrisLiatsos
06-09-2003, 09:53 PM
:bounce: They are hot!!!:bounce:

Aearon
06-09-2003, 10:14 PM
they ARE hot ! :D

i still have to say though.. the body looks better than the head

well the body is awesome :D so you might as well take that as a compliment, but there's still work to be done on the head imo :wip:

iC4
06-09-2003, 10:26 PM
I know..I'm pulling vertexs the whole time but she doesn't wanna look hot :annoyed:

have to work on the head :wip:

oh, and I'm glad you like the boots - just thinking on how I will do the, the...hmmm cords? don't know the exact english word

Nicodemia
06-09-2003, 11:00 PM
Indeed they are very sexy boots. 'LACES' is the word my friend.
I think that the head needs more shape at the back. Look at some skull pics. The top lip might also be too far forward. I think that putting the ears on will help alot.
Apart from that; Keep it up!! Great Stuff so far. :applause:

iC4
06-11-2003, 08:37 PM
thx Nicodemia, will have some ears soon

working on some cloth and armor at the moment, I tink I will have some pictures ready for tomorow

a bit offtopic.....having 36° here

so I decided to model this...but it didn't help......still too hot here :D

don't you get distracted from your asignment you batty boy, stop playing and start working.

nah just kiddin'
it looks...well...cool ;)

iC4
06-11-2003, 10:40 PM
hehe yep you are right, should work more on the contest :shame:

so because of that I show an early stage of her cloth/armor

I won't go for a metalic look on the armor, it will be more some hard cloth type stuff.....can't explain it in english sorry ;)

just a basic shape start

for the lower body I think I will make some type of skirt with some belts and stuff......she will wear it very low so you will see also here string

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web18.jpg

Virtuoso
06-12-2003, 03:33 AM
Ic4........Your doing some very nice work here.I like the look and design very much.Just do everyone a favor, and uncover the breasts abit more, lift the cloth garment abit.............;)

I think the cloth word you are looking for is "Leather"? Oh well you design and model it,we will talk about what the name is later.:)

Fine job, keep up the good work.

eirenicon
06-12-2003, 03:45 AM
Leather? Nah, he's looking for PVC, I'm sure (i.e. what Trinity wears in The Matrix). Leather is great, but definitely not the greatest for wearing right next to your skin, in my opinion.

FredSpeaks
06-12-2003, 03:50 AM
That is looking hot and sexy... Keep it up.

I really like the skirt falling off the hip. Nice touch:thumbsup:

iC4
06-12-2003, 01:57 PM
thx guys

here is what I have in mind for the environement, just a start to show you in which direction I wanna go

as the story says the human destroyed each other several times.....so there aren't any new buildings out there

http://www.cgcube.de/forum/challenge/web19.jpg

Dave Black
06-12-2003, 04:57 PM
That is really look look'n. Give it some good lighting...it will look a million times better as you model...thus making it more interesting to you, and us, as well as providing you with better visual feedback on suface structure and integrity.

Can't wait to see where you take this. Love those buildings! Reminds me of that old pc game "skynet"....ahhh...

Keep at it!!!

-3DZ

:D

Mcf
06-12-2003, 05:06 PM
no skynet.. put in some strong guys and a story and voila.. FIST OF THE NORTH STAR :D:applause:

btw. iC4. du solltest bei ihr ein wenig die hüftknochen hervorheben damit der gesamte hüftbereich realistischer wirkt.

ansonsten bin ich echt gespannt wann es das nächste update gibt :)

viel glück !

cheers Mcf

But for some reason the render doesnt look quite to scale. It looks ok in the wires tho.

Keep up the good work. :)

DimitrisLiatsos

:bounce: Nice texturing...maybe u should add some volumetric fog in the scene to give it more of this deserted feeling! :bounce:

zenzmurfy
06-18-2003, 07:20 AM
heheh! Seeing that makes me wanna play Unreal Tournament 2003! It looks good. I think it needs a little haze or fog to sell the sense of depth.

iC4
06-18-2003, 03:04 PM
as suggested I added some volume.

should I add more fog or is it ok?

Colin de bink
06-21-2003, 08:10 AM
Nice details on the sword
that scene is great too, It is a litle too "happy" whit all that sunlight though.
for a better mood I think you should make it more dark/cloudy/rainy/foggy

now it is more like a day at the beach and ,oh, yeah there is that building that they are demolishing...

make you char first though it's more important then the scene

just my thoughts keep going :wip:
:applause:

From the feather test, to the ice, to the environment. Nice work dude!

This looks like it's going to come together nicely. I'd like to see more pics of your main character though.
