Desesperately need some feedback on the design... I think I like it, but I'm really not too sure. So if you think it has some potential, please reply...

Here's the sappy story:

This is a nomad desert rat, who belongs to an almost extinct race... They fight for their survival as they seek a new land to be established and start over.

ok... I'll keep going any which way - gotta finish this challenge.
Here's the hand (weird place to begin, I know)
comments?

I think you have something here.
I think it'll be great if he stays rat sized and all the weapons/equipment are scavenged human stuff. Safetypins, buttons, bottle tops etc.

thanks mouse!

Here's me just blocking the head... (I'm going to have a really hard time attaching everything together!!! O well.. next time I'll take a different approach)

BIG QUESTION... before I continue... what do you think about the proportions? So far I think the body is too small for the arms/hands... but the head is too big for the body... is the head to big/small for the hands??????
looks weird,,, and I still can't figure out why.

Hey Rev. It looks good. I like the proportions of the brest plate to the lower half of the body. The boots are great! I imagine you are going to give him a belt but If not I would give it some thought. Looks Great!

HELP!!!!!!!!!

I just started blocking out the head, placed it on top of the shoulders... and after 3 attempts I think I hate it... but I'm not really sure...
I REALLY need a fresh pair of eyes here.

so, comments... preety please? Sugar on top?

I think the lack of replies confirms the fact that a rat's head doesn't really go with a human body... does it?

So.. with that in mind I'm doing the right thing... putting a human face on a human body... unfortunately that makes it a run-of-the-mill human in a body armor..., so I think I will finish this one outside of the challenge and maybe use him to try out some animation exercises...

so here he is... (last post in the challenge thread)

No.no,you should continue here. And with your original idea, perhaps you can mix the two together,a sidekick team. Also think of even a more memorable item, that will make him all the more a icon that is known in the games World.

Hey lets make a deal,I'll come in,and give you an extra pair of eyes,oK but you got to finish, that's what's most important here.Stepping stones,is the logic I am getting at.You had an idea,it's a good one,you should follow up on it,go for it.

Finish this challenge Rev.............Have fun, learn, and gain experience.I'll keep an eye out for your prgress, deal.:deal: :deal:

OK I hope so.See you soon.

Road: Thanks for the extra pair of eyes... REALLY appreciated!

Virtuoso: YES! YES! YES! :bounce: :bounce: What more can I ask for? LOVE your challenge entry! How can I refuse the offer? A high-quality critic in exchange for a rat's head? DEAL!:deal:

So... I'm back - A humanoid rat's head (blocked and draft at least) due tomorrow.

THANKS GUYS... (boy! You make it hard to quit! THANKS for that!)

Yes, keep going and use that great comments here for your very interesting and fast start on this challenge. I see something with great possibilities allow it to get more formed now and it will work fine at the end.

I´m sure you will do it good,

STEN ;)

The Rev...........I am happy to see you have re-started.It's only a positive thing .You'll gain that all important experience and have some fun while doing so.

I think you have two total different sides to your creation at the momment. I understand that is what you are going for.My thoughts, and there only my opinions is that you should somehow try to bring both sides to a happy medium or middle ground.

In other words try and give the head a touch more of a human qua;ity, and the body a more Toon look.Perhaps with the body you can hunch over his posture a touch? Also en-large his hands to "TOON" proportions. His Feet/boots as well.More of a Realistic toon type creation. The two very opposite components of your creation can then meld together better, meet in the middle so to speak.

The ears also should be more smoothed, brought back more to a taper or point as well. It's early but that's a start.Just some intial thoughts.I'll keep an eye out onyyour progress,as promised.;)

Just keep practicing, reading, learning, tweaking.See you soon,I give you credit for coming back and giving it a fight.

Hi Rev. Glad to see your still in it. Their are so many good threads last time I was looking through them I was surprised how many great one had just a small amount of replies. My last update just slid through the cracks and to the back page too. I liked the first head that you did not get any comments on the best. I like the belt you added! When you mentioned the all rat head with all humanoid body-this does not bother me either. I wonder if you can do something to get some sort of transition between the two. Perhaps the head texture is on the shoulders and then fades off on the for arm. Like the hair is thinning out to skin. Just a little brainstorming. Keep it up.

Looking good! I like the pants and boots especially. It reminds me of the Biker Mice From Mars cartoon that I watched as a kid.
