View Full Version : 0.98.10b is out!
The return of shift+tab and other goodies :o)
Edit: 10c was released just hours after 10b, apparently 10b contained some serious bugs.

Wings is reeeally growing into a unique tool!
Best regards.
A word of warning. This release seems to contain quite a few bugs so you may want to wait for the next release before upgrading.

With the new Snap Image tool you can texture a model in seconds with no UVMapping. Don't know how it exports if at all, but it's great for previewing the look of your model.
This is a FANTASTIC PROGRAMME! - Baz

It exports quite nice to obj (at least when I reimported this obj to wings everything was ok). Looks like a powerful feature, I never liked manually creating UVs ;)
[Edit]
Maya does not like obj textures, and it does not import them, but uv's are imported properly, so it should be enough to assign shader with our bitmap.

That, and much more ;)

Best regards.
Yup, I exported and reimported an .obj complete with textures. The only problem is the textures seem to be in the .mtl file (material file?) so no other app I have will read them. Anyone know of a way to combine the .obj and .mtl files?

It exports UV's so you just need to re-assign texture files (tiffs or whatever) in other software ;) so no real need to combine them ;)
Thanks azazel.
Edit: I was being stupid (no change there then!) the texture was importing into Bryce just not showing in the render because of the material settings. A quick tweak and all is well!
Well not entirely, there are some odd gaps in the texture in Bryce, I'm not sure why but more fiddling might cure it, I'm pretty new to Bryce.
can someone tell me how this Snap Image
works
