So I was inspired to give the queen a try by Locusta's Alien Queen thread. First, i think it's really great, and second, to tribute Stan Winston, and finally because he hasn't used any sculpting programs like ZB or mudbox yet, and still has achieved a great looking model. I don't have any of either program yet so I'm going to atempt using the old sub-d modelling technique. I'd love to do the whole body, but i think time will allow for only the bust. thanks to the extended weekend, I'm half way through the crown.

Not bad at all. I don't know when the contest ends, but I think you'll have enough time to get a decent bust finished.

I see you have very good control of the edgeloops too. Very, very good.

I cross my fingers and wish you all the best. I know you will do great work. When you need some references, no problem. I´ve got plenty of them ;)

@Locusta: Thanks. I'm using the references from your thread, but anything more that you have would be much appreciated.

Started to block out the rest of the crown. Topology looks a little crazy right now, but I should be able to start the rerfining process soon, and hopefully begin the mouth tonight.

It seems that real life is getting busy, not much to update. Almost finished the crown and started on the head/mouth.

The crown looks really good. I hope you manage to get the rest of her head looking as good before the deadline.... which I don't know when it is.

@StevenEgan: Thank you very much. I'll try my best on the rest of the model. About the deadline, I thought it was sept. 15, but I could be wrong.

Got little time to work on this. Started reifining the head. Still not happy with the gums and teeth. Stated laying out the neck.

I think the gum's are good. maybe if you added a bit more volume, and definition, It would look really good.

I think the teeth need to be longer, and maybe wider.

And yeah, the deadline is the 15th.
