View Full Version : how to create a clip properly in maya
aboullous 09-01-2008, 03:28 PM Hi guys, i have a keyframed animation in maya with two characters. i'm trying to create a clip for it by selecting the character group, and then clicking on create clip. the result is that it creates a separate clip for every body part, which is not what i want. i need one clip for the entire character. i tried grouping, but i seem to be doing something wrong there, too. a little help? thanks..

I think i tried that. it displays an error saying "too many characters are selected". Or maybe i didn't understand exactly what you meant by controls?

by controls i mean the objects that have keyed attributes. The controls you have made for you rig.

yes, i tried that. it displays the aforementioned error. what i did try, is selecting all my subcharacters corresponding to the body parts, then merging the character sets. now, it creates one clip for my character, but it's still not quite what i want, because now i have no way of controling the individual body parts. i want both levels of control.
Well, anyways, thanks a lot for your help sergioduque.
