Donīt know any good tutorials on that. First you should set up a little animation of you biped/bones/humanIK etc which lets you easily see all the deformations on your body.
Then start adjusting envelopes, take your time and try to get it as good as possible, saves time later on.
Then start with links, especially bend and sliding can do a lot of important work.
Adjust bulges and tendons if needed, and in the end you get the long work of adjusting single vertices, especally in armpits and between torso and legs.
Very important is of course the modelling, if you modeled your object messy, you wonīt be able to deform it properly.
