Since there's been lots of discussions about procedurals I might as well post my tuts again ;)
http://pchan.vi2.com ->click tutorials.
First tut is a really simple one about the wood map that comes with max. It's mostly just there to give some thoughts on procedural texturing.
Second tut is about how to simulate anisotropic metal and blurry reflections in max. I use procedurals to get the grains in the bump... Which could easily be replaced by bitmaps, but it's a good read regardless ;)
Also, two pro-procedural images:
Canyon (y'all must be getting bored with this by now...) (http://pchan.vi2.com/max/canyon12.jpg)
Canyon (y'all must be getting bored with this by now... Part 2) (http://pchan.vi2.com/max/canyon13.jpg)
I'll try and write more tuts on procedurals after this months challenge. Until then... Have fun :wavey:
