Hello,

I have a female character and im putting together some ideas on how I want the shader to look. Im using Maya 8.5 to start, and ill be using renderman 2.0 for rendering. The pictures below is the effect I want to have when light hits her skin. I want to have a really nice contrast between the shadows, and light areas. Im going to be painting maps for this so I dont want a procedural shader to be used as the color. Also I through in the hand pictureto focus on the translucency, I would like to have translucency on the tips of the fingers, nose, ears, etc. Any tips, tutorials would be appreciated!

using renderman subsurface scattering function seems to be the tool you need, and just an amount of tweak with texture, to add fine details in the skin.
