Hi, i have some things in mind so here is a little description
Scuba-Girl - a underwater FPS
a girl riding/be drawn a/by underwater scooter - scifi style
i will start next week

this wakes some good memories about the above & beyond challenge from way back. i also looked up some of your other challenge entries...niice, i wish i had kept myself that busy.
Anyway, i AM in on this one :bounce:

well i guess that's the way it's done in every fps game, no? you only see the character in scripted sequences or fmv's..and with this challenge being about just that, i don't see the problem... BUT a third person perspective might make more sense with this kind of vehicle :shrug:
ok - some story update -
you´re slip in Scuba-Girl - she be drawn by a scooter with some arms (yes u can update your scooter in the game:scream: )- there are 2 play modes water and station or underwater cities in the water mode you look over the scooter in a nice water world (like Finding Nemo :rolleyes: ) and pay attention of see monsters and some ugly guys (underwater pirates) there will be also a villain group u have to combat in several missions
the the station or underwater cities mode is a standard FPS view like Doom3 or HL2 here u can fight, buy some new weapons or scooter and so on ... just imagine!
there will be cut scenes where u can see Scuba-Girl in action (i hope her body will fit youre taste:rolleyes: )
next week will come more
ok some declarations - in the water view u look over the scooter like i said - the scooter is shown in the viewport like a weapon in unreal 2 ... (the scooter is a kind of weapon) but u can swith to a 3. person view i u want same in the city mode

hehe sweet.... I love the idea of a scuba game... The very first game i ever wanted to make was a scuba diver game back on the C64 when i was about 9 years old.... I think i wrote a design for it (i say design in the loosest possible terms...i was 9) though i was very much let down by the fact that i couldnt code BASIC..and did i mention i was 9 :)

Coming along real well Swag.You always do fine jobs with these challenges,just wanted to mention that.And this one too is interesting.Your modeling looks clean,and the idea is fresh:thumbsup:
The only minor crit I can give,and this could just be a taste thing so no real crit is that the palm of the hand itself could be a bit long.Perhaps it could be shortened abit.Or if you elongate the fingers a touch as Dimi suggested it could be perfectly balanced then,but maybe then the hand in total may look to elongated.So play with,but right now I think it's the palm of the hand that's just a bit too long.

perfect execution so far swag :thumbsup:
one minor issue.. it's all quads but you have a pole in a very curvy area (the back of the jaw) which causes pinching
the lips extend a little too far outwards for my taste.. oh well ...
looking forward to see her in all her assembled glory :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

about the eyes: try to make the curvature more uniform.. the lids look a little wavy and the eyes pull up towards the outside. also make the upper lid overlap the bottom one. plus i don't see a tearduct
right now the eyelids look like a ring that is stuck on, which they probably are mesh structure wise. they don't 'flow' into the surrounding area.
she looks very good from the front, but not as good as from the side (i ALWAYS have that problem) Spend some quality hours in the front view, maybe defining the cheeks a little better. there is something about her face that makes it look like she's fake-smiling. :wip:
arr this turned into a rant ;) don't get me wrong.. those are just minor tweaks. it looks great already

Hey Swag,I think I can help you.First listen to Fist's advice,tons of tweaking,molding.Second are you using Maya? I think I recall you use Wings 3D then transfer to Maya right?
Well do you have problems with 3DS tranfers to maya? Do you use FBX. I can send you some help if you want.Let me know,Swag send me a PM,and give me your E-mail address,Ill then attach a zip file of some things that I think can be of great help .:beer:

oh fist thanks for your help i will rework the eye completely and iam happy with the side view and as u say the front has no style (character) have to measure some references there is something wrong :annoyed:

looking very nice.How about her own sub?I like those fins too.Nice idea,only maybe bring the parts of the nose just above the nostrils up or out a little. Good work,it's going to be origianl when finished.:thumbsup:

Clean modeling,cannot be cleaner.It's coming along well Swag.I just think besides that you should think of adding something with more pizzaz,something that will make it more of a true gaming icon.Add some extra something,a hook.To really give it that something to be immeadiatly recognised.

It's looking smooth,and clean. I like the last update on the back-side.It has more lift,curve.
I still think you can add just a "TOUCH",and I mean just a touch of curve and size to the backs of her calves & hamstrings.(The back part of the thighs.) It's very nice,looking to be a very nice clean model.
I also think you should think of adding a little something extra to the whole idea. A "Hook" or that little something more to make her more memorable. A game Icon needs that something more original that item that makes it stand out even more.
Ok,it's all on target to be a very nice creation,keep going with her,it's looking very nice.:thumbsup: :beer:

Hey swag, the girls head definitively need some extra work, she has too much forehead and the cheeks are too squarish.

My only concern is how do you steer the scooter? there doesn't apear to be any steering fins at all. I think it would be pretty hard to try to use your own body to try to steer. Plus I can't see any way to turn it on or apply more gas/power or any triggers for the guns at all.

I think the design of this thing is great and I also think that stearing whit this thing is posible under water.
however I have a problem whit the hull
it is, I dont know, a litlle bubbly or not smooth enough. especialy the tip of the nose
you might think I am whinning but I think it would be a better model when you smooth it out a little

Your on the other side of the fence swag :)...I like this strange work alot. The girl is looking good...I'm wondering how she breaths under water?....Do you have plans for a mouth peice or a bubble covering the front?...that could make for some more details on the helmet. Also the area in the middle of the chest where the breast lines meet the zipper line looks a little pinched together though that could be the high specularity. Maybe separating the breasts a little could help this. Her forearms also feel a bit boxy at the moment. I like the modeling of the face its unique and has character for me....I hope you have time to texture it all up!! specs, colors, bumps! :wip: The ship is looking really nice so far...Just waiting to see where it will go and how this will all fit together. Your works are great swag...I look foward to your future projects!

Overall a pretty cool model and vessell.The girl needs some real cool textures in the end to really make this one top notch.Also the scooter needs way more details and stuff.pretty cool work so far however overall.:thumbsup:

I reallly like both models just one thing about the body suit..., even though I really like how it goes up her uh... cheeks... maybe make it a little looser I dunno it looks like a body suit until you see that. but it looks great.
Fetus23 i miss u here :beer: she breaths trust me - the helmet has a glas visor (simple nurbs patch) i hide it so u can see the face better

Looking pretty good guy.But I think front end should be expanded wider.More detail too like air duct fins on sides just for show like the corvette of old.Good work here.:thumbsup:

Looking good Swag.I have always liked your attention to extra details and a more original approach to your work.
I think a few more extras could be nice additions,but save those for after the main work is done.Textures too will really be nice additions when final.
Some more attention too to the face textures,a more soft earth tone perhaps mixed in.The modeling looks clean,nice quite smooth.The vessel needs a litle more pop,something to really make it stand out,a little something more,and no her boobs cannot be cloned onto the scooter.So while she has them and helps,the scooter needs something else.:p
Just a added gadget/toy,spear gun attachment perhaps?
All in all this is one of my favorites in this challenge from all aspects,good job Swag,just add another little something here and there to give it that something extra.
Anyways very well done.

You have done very well Swag.Turned out to be one of the best entries,nice clean modeling and nice extra scooter to go with a very nice modeled girl.Wings 3D and Maya are a very nice combo.I have been getting more to grips with Maya myself in the past months.Still got Max in my blood however.
