View Full Version : HCM #16 Predator full body, unmasked WIP
Vincenzi 08-27-2008, 08:44 AM Somewhat late I guess, but I had actually started a couple days ago and haven't had the time to post. I'm going for a posed model of the predator in the first movie. So far so good, my workflow consists of using Zspheres to sculpt a sketch, retopologize the mesh in Maya, take it back into Zbrush and sculpt the final detail.
So far about 6 to 7 hours of work. My next step is to retopologize and incorporate the armor into the mesh.

Just finished retopologizing for a smoother sculpting experience in Zbrush, and for future animation potential.
Here it is in Zbrush, I'm using the topology tool which I really like, but there are certain areas I just can't get into, like the inside of the mouth. At least working in those areas is troublesome, so I need to take it into a 3d app. to work the final details of the base mesh.

In maya, I use all the tools necessary to check for holes, nonplanar and other issues, which surprisingly were many.

Here it is in Zbrush with final mesh. I moved the arms and had to add some loops in there to reduce stretching.

Now's the fun part..
