View Full Version : CD doesn't continue installation after reboot

Hi guys.

I have been trying to setup wireless between my friends new laptop and a Belkin 54G Wireless Router. There is a supplied Easy Installation Wizard on the CD for the router. I follow the steps until it gets to a point where the system needs to restart. Installation is supposed to continue after restart but it does not. I then have to open the disc in my computer which takes me back to the start of the installation and not the point it should be at.

Why would the software not continue installation after sytem reboot?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Forget the wizard.

Go to either:

http://192.168.2.1
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.1

The password will either be blank or "admin"
Go into the wireless section.
Give it a name (SSID)
set the security to WPA PSK
enter a 8-16 digit password

then youre done

And... once you're in, make sure to change that password to something you'll remember that isn't quite so easy and default.

Thanks guys I just entered the first number in the address bar and was able to access the router. I guess in future I will just avoid the setup CD as far as routers are concerned.
