Title: Autumn Lane
Name: Martin Hedenstroem
Country: Australia
Software: Carrara, Modo, Photoshop

My scenes have been pretty bright and green to date so I thought I'd create something with a more subdued autumnal pallete.

A little modeling done in Modo but mostly it's Carrara. The seedheads were created with Carrara hair.

I love your outdoor scenes and this one is no exception  I wonder how you manage to render such complex scenes, does Carrara have real instancing?

cheers,
Matthias

Like always, I am really impressed. Great work. I love the lighting you did. i also like the way you have more rock in the center of the lane, to give it more of a real feel.

Great one as always. I just think the road could be a little more bumpy.
Anyway.... Keep up the good work.

This is really impressive. Nature doesnt follow any straight lines... And you manage
it perfectly to make 3D look like nature. Thats really great work. How many hours does it usually take to finish one picture?

Keep it up! 4*

Carrara does have a pretty efficient instancing system called "surface replicators". I use these to place the plants over the terrain. Also the trees use instancing for the leaves - so I only have to create 1 leaf for each species. I would estimate there are probably a few hundred million polygons in this scene - only made possible through instancing.

Hard to say... I've re-used a bunch of models from previous scenes for this render so that saved a lot of time. A couple of hours here and there over the course of 2 weeks to put the scene together. Final render took about 5 hours I think.

hum, had no idea about carrara , I should search for that..is it a program, plugin for max?

the most difficult and realistic think to make in 3d is preciselly, vegetation...& your render vegetation look just great, although you need to correct vegetation colors & location atmosphere to make it look very realistic.

grats anyways ;)

wow very nice! When I looked at the thumbnail i expected another
Vue render, but I'm very surprised at what you've done with Carrara's capabilities.

Excellent work!
