Hello,

I have a head which already has a texture applied to it. I would like to bake that texture but to a cylindrical UV map.

I have tried to save the cylindrical UV map (UV Unwrap) and then load it into the automatic flatten uv's modifierd which is created once you use the render to texture feature integrated into max 5.

But sadly the results have a lot of errors in them. Does anybody know how to overcome this problem? Or if there is a Plugin which gives you more UV options in baking.

Thank you in advance.

cccp.

You can disable the automatic UV mapping in the backing dialog. Put your original texture in UV channel 1, and the cylindrical mapping in UV channel 2. Then use the render to texture function to render it to channel 2.

Or am I misunderstanding your question?
