These are very clean and bright. Nice work!

Thanks, CybrGfx and ninkan, for the replies and compliments.
I'm currently working on a new illustration that I hope to post up soon.

Decided to make this a progress thread.
Astro Kids - Round 2 ( For Round 1 - See my Blog )

That style and the choice of colors brings me in a good mood even if it would be monday and a customer gets on my nerves right in the morning.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. :)

can't add anything to it. I like the composition. the symmetry works quite well. I saw a version of the pirate on your blog that you said didn't have a good compo and i agree. this one looks great. i'd be interested in seeing what you do with asymmetric compositions.

Another illustration, based on the Tiki Tiki and Tribal mythology.
A bit more behind the scenes info on my Blog.

Is this a WIP?
What issues are you having with it?
09-03-2008, 08:47 PM
No, this isn't a WIP. I consider it near enough final work. I tend to shy away from posting in the final images section, after all, there is always room for improvement! :)
09-03-2008, 09:55 PM
Since you consider this essentially finished, you should go ahead and post it to your thread (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=271&t=666289) in the Speedpaints and Sketchbooks area...
While there is always room for improvement, once a work is considered "final" by the artist, it's more a "Show and Tell," than a WIP.

Yeah, point taken.
Unfortunately, when I created my original thread, I wasn't thinking it would turn into a constantly updated progress thread - I tried editing my initial post and renaming the title to SUNCHIRP - Illustrations Thread - ( so that people had a clearer picture of what my thread was about ) but that only changed the original post title, not the thread name. So, rather than posting the image there, and having people think it was just another reply to an 'initial' post, I created a seperate post. Wow, that was long winded! :)
Mods - if your reading this, I would really appreciate an edit of my original sketchbook title from : -
SUNCHIRP - Illustrations - Gemini Twins And Pirate
SUNCHIRP - Illustrations Thread
Just so I can avoid any confusion in the future.
And Thanks for you input, CybrGfx. ;)
Merged and editted.

Small update based on feedback received.

Was recently inspired by the Abominbale Snowman challenge on the keyframer.com forums.

Very refreshing vectors! I like the simplified designs, strong color combos and neat characters. I think your work could easily transfer to TV cartoons! Keep it up.

These are all so crisp, so clean, and so distinctive, you really do need to have them all together, not just for your sake, but so that people discovering your thread will be able to enjoy all of these, not missing an odd stray here or there. This way, you can send the link to this thread to anyone interested in seeing what you're doing (although you'd do better to upgrade here at CGS, and create a portfolio...)
I can see these as advertisements for everything from laundry detergent to exotic drink recipes, or as tee shirts. You should consider marketing some of them on CafePress.

Rabid1 : - Thanks for your reply, that's the style I'm going for, something that can cross to other platforms! :)
CybrGfx : - Thanks, I'm working on a few more illustrations before I create my portfolio for my website ( hence it being empty at the moment ), so people will be able to see my work there, along with behind the scenes information on illustrations, etc on my BLOG as well. Thanks for the cafepress suggestion, it's something I was considering a bit further down the line. ;)

Two for the price of one, my final compostion didn't work with the two central characters, they were both fighting for attention, so I decided to put them both on their own seperate backdrops.
As usual, there is a little more background info. on my blog.
