Awesome character and great render!

The animator in me would like to make the pose more expressive - like have him half-lidded, slightly unfocused, with the wine glass in the right hand, maybe mouth open in anticipation of his next bite. He does seem frustrated in this one though, like he's fed up of mixing up his spaghetti and tentacles, so maybe I'll shut up and just say nice one, made me smile :)

What I love is that everything in the scene fits together and works to make the theme. The fact that he's eating lo mein and sushi, with chopsticks, the wire bottle holder and pewter plates, the hat, cutlass, even the background of chains and wood planking and even a cannonball stack, the lighting...= a very synergistic image. Everything builds on each other, nothing glares or detracts, it all fits logically and temporally. Those little squid with the big bug eyes! Such expresssion like "oh oh, run away run away" even in the littlest details. Great job!

Je ne suis qu'une humble petite étudiante dans le monde infini de l'animation, je participe très peu aux discussions mais pour le coup je me dois de laisser un commentaire. Me sentant plus proche de l'animation 2D j'ai du mal à accrocher à une compo 3D sans la sentir un peu froide parfois; mais ici, ce n'est pas le cas! J'ai trouvé tout ce que j'aime. Une belle réalisation, soignée, détaillée, et très proche du cartoon que j'affectionne... Chapeau! Je trouve la composition très intéressante, l'expression qui se voulait comique est spécialement réussie. L'ambiance de couleur est prenante, d'autant plus qu'elle est composée de couleurs complémentaires! L'image se lit en plusieurs temps, on à plaisir à la lire et à la parcourir plus d'une fois!

bref je suis conquise! Quand au making-of, peu de gens prennent le temps d'en faire, je trouve ça d'autant plus honorable et intéressant! Merci beaucoup pour cette belle leçon de technique et de créativité!
