View Full Version : Webdesign and cinema
station75 06-02-2003, 12:25 PM hello
many of us used cinema to make cool stills and animations, but one of my client want me to do for him web site. he hasn't materials only screenshots and logo of the game. so i decided to use cinema to produce all graphics for this site. I used:
- box modeling
- hypernurbs
- sla materials
- finger paint plugin to put grass and stones on ground (in intro)
- sky plugin to generate sky (on various times) (in intro)
- pyrocluster to make clouds (in intro)
- render all end used 3d to make border of site
and some conclusion - c4d is great tool for that too. simple, fast and cool.
design time sth about 1 hour (not the site only 3d components)
maybe some of You used cinema for webdesign too (i don't think about cool abstract pages) and could write some tips?
ahh and here the link www.thewitcher.com (http://www.thewitcher.com)

cool thanks for posting this its alway nice to see what people are up to with c4d.
it seemed to take awhile to load the intro etc.
i like the border....seen some good 3d stuff in past for interface design on websites (not got any links to hand will have alook)...not all cinema but totally do-able within cinema...someone posted a good one where they had used morphs on buttons...v cool.
liked the intro but would have like to see more in it though...
1hr design time...pretty damn good i'd say....why when they spend month/years making games do they then turn around and say i want a website tomorrow!! Arrh well the life of a designer i guess...

hello
i'm using cinema in webdesing for year but never to do interface :)
sometimes i prepare background to ads for my clients somtimes to do all design work (only some postprocessing in photoshop).
but now i'm still thinking about cinema and flash. both can use xml so (now it's only thinking) you can model sth in cinema, export to flash and then maniupulate that information in flash :)
so many ways to use cinema :)
liked the intro but would have like to see more in it though...

intro is too small because the game is in pre-alpha faze so i can use only gfx made by me :( but maybe in future i expand it)
and some words about webdesign (little offtopic) i've made sth about 100 sites in my life and i hate clients who wants everything 'tomorrow'... they don;t understan that every work need time to be 'good work' :)

No Flash, just interface elements done in C4D:
First Unit Production Services (http://www.firstunit.com)
My site (http://www.camerasinternational.com/skinner)
My site, made in Flash but just using 3D graphics as the basic elements. It still needs loads of work but its getting there :)
http://www.fdbweb.com/habbo/
kokokuva.com (http://www.kokokuva.com)
graphics made solely with C4D. Site's not in English as I'm still desperately trying to find time to continue and finish it.
Irfanview was used to compress images and Flash to bring them to monitor. For once I didnt even touch on Photoshop. For the record, Flash MX 2004 +7.01 update crashed 54 times during tweaking that site.

as to crashing all that...is that the norm! cos thats pretty impractical to say the least...and frustrating.

Yes, Cinema has changed the way I work with Graphic Design, it's become an essential part of the process.
I can achieve a certain style with it that I just couldn't do with Photoshop or any other 3D app and in a fraction of the time.

My site is completely done in C4D for the graphics, then slice in PS/IR. What you'll see is C4D only, nothing else.
No Flash, though.
I will make a new version as soon as I'll find time.
