With the new price structure of Maya Complete, I am very tempted to change from Max to Maya. However before I do so; can anyone answer this question I have about Maya Complete and its character animation capabilities.

Can you save animation sequences of characters to build a library of motion and then combine these different animation sequences together to create a new animation. (i.e. combining two motion files together to create one animation). For those of you familiar with Character Studio a facility that is similar to the Motion Flow Script.

Or is there a 3rd Party plugin like character studio for Maya to perform these tasks.

I hope my description is clear and not confusing :hmm:

Thanks for any help may be able to provided.

There is something called "skeleton works", it works kind of like character studio, only some what more difficult to set up.

The Trax editor is a non linear animation editor. Not only can you save out animation sequencese but also poses. It's pretty raw, but it's works reliably and A|W is improving it with every release.
