Not an update just an idea on where I want to go with this.
My original pose to shoot for was this.

but I think I might just go for an action pose.
This is my third attempt [ I think ] at one of the HMC having never finished any. I'm going to attempt to do a daily update but I find it hard to get home from work and continue on this. Does anyone else find I guess motivation to be a problem? Do you find only the time to work on the week-ends? I'm trying to find motivation to keep my self going, what does everyone else do? Over the past week-end I spent about 16hrs on this project, most of it finding ref then begging the model. Comment's on this conundrum would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I just read your comments on the freetime-motivation business...
well here's how I see it in my state of being right now.
At work I do mostly visualisation stuff so it has to be correct and is mostly based on technical priciples.
At home I do fun stuff which I can't do at work
At work I am more or less doing what I know and can do for 8 hours each day, with breaks since I can't concentrate 8 hours straight.
At home I try difficult stuff having no deadlines and trying new techniques and am learning new techniques
So that's the difference to me. Basicly it boils down to me having a few hours each evening that is "me" time, not in a relationship at the moment so that increases the time I have. And that time I spend keeping up with the game releases throughout the year, working on personal projects and hobby's or hanging with friends. Most time I have on the weekends or my one day a week off.
Basicly I am motivated as long as I haven't had a bad, long tiring day. Or when I am looking forward to a new game I want to play, or a social get together with friends (which to me is more important than computing at home, I am not a terribly social (need people around me) person so the time I spend with others is important to me.
So that is how I handle it. For me the challenge is not to start something new and exciting before I finish the latest thing I was working on. Which was new and exciting but lost it's shine after I overcame the technicalities :)
Hope you find this interesting :) Good start BTW looking forward to updates!

Thank you for the reply.
Somethings to think about as far as how do I look at my work. Ive also found out that a Cold does not help motivation :hmm:...
Again thank you.

Looking pretty good. You got a good poly flow. I am doing iron man myself, so all I can say it took alot of time to come to the point it began to get funny. You have to iterate until you begin to fully understand your model.
References: google google google... for large images. Apple also got some trailers in 1080p with mk2 suit, its not entirely accurate for mk3 but it works as a filler whenever you cant see too clear. (Worst is side pics and back). If you have the movie on dvd thats ofc better, though not released yet in swe unfortunatly.
I have probably spent 5 hours just looking for refs!:)
Also, be aware of that the practical suit and the cg version is alot different. I figure the cg suit is the "correct" on to follow, but the practical version got most of the close up pics.
Modellingmethod: using maya? learn SubD. I really had to force myself to get grasp of subd fully. Just 3 years too late I am very happy I did:)

Ive used subDs...but haven't learned them im afraid. Also had the worst problems with them when it comes to Texturing and Rendering. Again I dont know subD but i run into a problem as far a texturing goes. Noob quesiton I know but you cant output your UV's in subD mode can you? Only polygon? I find when doing texters they get stretched in subD mode and wrapped funny. Im assuming this is because I havent taken the time to properly learn subD's. When it comes to rendering it takes much more power and I tend to get a rendering error. I use mental ray alot and I get the mental ray has ran out of memory... So...
Anyways it comes down to I need to learn subDs...
Thanks
