I've been searching and did not found, but as this stuff is most useful, I'm sure there must be a tool to do such thing...

If you'r not familiar with autocad align tool, it works like this:

- you select an object to be aligned
- you select 3 source and destination coordenates (s1-d1, s2-d2, s3-d3)
- the object you selected moves from s1 to d1 and rotates to match the other two destination points.
- you're prompted with the option to scale the object acordingly to match the 3 points.

(edit: if you select just 2 source/destination points, the selection is moved normaly and rotated along z axis to match the points. Useful for z axis aligns, fewer clicks)

It's very useful. Does anyone know a script, tool or a way to achieve the result (or an even easier way)?

damned I searched for "3 point align" in scriptspot, I should have searched for "3-points-align".
How could I know????

Yeah thanks a lot it works fine, but I miss the option to scale the object.

And another thing, this must be fault of 3ds max i'm sure that's documented, I need a few clicks to get the points right. Same happens with "measure distance..." from tools menu. annoying.

Thanks a lot again.
