View Full Version : Combining objects
phobos 08-17-2008, 09:40 AM Hi there!
I'm building a head and I decided to model the ears and the rest of the head separately.
The problem is that the points that the ear attaches to the head are less than the points of the ear. In 3d studio you can fill new faces between these points. It does a messy job (lots of triangles) but you can then edit easily. Is there a similar tool to that in Cinema?
Thanks in advance

Assuming you have:
1. Connected the objects to form a single mesh
2. and bridged together at least one set of edges between the two parts
then you should be able to use the 'Close Polygon Hole' command (optionally with the option to 'Create Tri/Quadrangle' checked)

try the bridge tool or the stitch&sew tool or the create polygon tool

I've been trying to fix the topology for the past few hours and I have to say that I've hit a wall.
The parts where the ear and the head meet is far from clean. Apart from the fact that there are 2 triangles the flow has lots of problems.
Any ideas on how to fix them?

Those areas are not going to deform during animation, so who cares if there's a few tris or ngons?
