Is there a tool in Maye like in Max wich Duplicates and detaches faces?

Duplicate Face and Extract do exist. You can find it under EDIT POLYGONS

well the problem with these two are that in maya the faces kinda like explodes away from eachother... where they in max are holding together and still has the form they where duplicated from.

Im an old maxer. but now not.
cuz I saw differences via my programming experiations ....

dont angry early..
dont be hurry to learn maya as easy as max.
be patient.

see "keep faces togehter" option.

maya has many more individual options to do what you dream

also if an option is not exist in maya (seems impossible... check mel refence) then you can code.what you want

from highend 3d, this adds detaching functionality similar to 3ds max.

Serves as an alternative to using the buggy Duplicate Faces and Extract Tool. Uses Duplication methods to extract or duplicate faces for any object. Extremely reliable because it is not dependant on history.

is there a new tool to do this in Maya 5. I can not get the script to run in this version and the normal Extract sucks.
