Visit www.3dtutorial.com to see the new XSI Training series by Bernard Lebel (you know him as Atyss)

It's entitled XSI Production Solutions and Tips and contains close to 13 hours of materials. There is a try before you buy option as well.

I have seen these and highly recommend them.

hey, does it teach everything that xsi 3 has to offer, like fx tree, render tree, using different passes, realisitc rendering, like all rendering videos, how many vidoes are there, and if there was like a SCREEN SHOTS, or a little 30 seconds of the CLIP will be good. :bounce:

Alpha -Lets hope so

xsimaster - It does not cover everything in XSI but they are looking to produce more i.e particles, modeling, etc. I would suggest downloading the examples and judging for yourself.

The videos cover basically the topics you mentioned, but not 'everyting' in XSI. And yes, the videos are meant for XSI 3 and 3.5 (though some features of 3.5 are not covered, as I recorded them just when 3.0 came out... hey that was just 7 months ago!).

Like Will said, there are sample videos on the site that you can download for free.

Cheers
Bernard

This looks sweet!

I haven't watched the actual video yet but the info provided looks good.

It'd be nice if CDs or DVDs were made and could be available for order. This way subsequent downloading can be avoided if something happens to one's computer and the files are lost.

you can order the contents on a support, I think Joe only charges the media and shipping costs overhead for that.

Okay, I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip, JacO!

Edit: Doh! Totally missed it on the "Buy" page. Methinks I'll be ordering a set.:bounce:

i have seen some of the videos, i dont like the idea you have to install, some thing,
they are very good, he also take the time to explain very simple things, as the type of light, selecting diferent layout and resolution,

The install part is, agreeably enough, a little bit annoying when compared to just having a few DiVX' to fire up, but bear in mind that Joe made an impressive job at stuffing over 10hrs of full res video in very little space.
To my knowledge that wouldn't have been possible without using his own technology for the thing.
Usual stuff, give something take something :)

btw, i tried to download the demo on that site to have a look, but the first section (largest file) appears to be a corrupt installer (tried 5 times).

ray,

Tha's great news!

Have they found someone for particles yet?

Joe's working a lot on the social network side of things, and I'm sure he has a few contacts here and there.
I'd say it's reasonable to expect that if he wants to publish particles stuff he damn well will do it, in a way or another :)

The XSI Gods be praised...

I have been waiting for this to hit the world for months... and the price is phenomonal... Keep cranking them out please!!!

As I said over at XSI base a while ago, I have a pretty big budget for Gnomon-like training for XSI and now I am starting to see the product of my dreams materialize...

Much love to the folks contributing... may it be successful and profitable for all involved (teachers & students).

Hugs and cheers all around.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your comments, I've enjoyed reading them

Just to let you know, this is only the start and we have a lot of great new training material coming for XSI.

I am currently working very hard on it.

Coming next from 3dtutorial will be:

Advanced Subdivision Surface Modelling by Reinhard Claus (about 10 hours).

Advanced Render Tree by Alan Jones

and a few other special goodies that I'm not going to talk about yet ;)

I've recenlty signed a pile of new authors, so stay tuned because there is a LOT more to come.

Thank you for your comments and support.

Regards,

JRS

Hi Joe,

Both of those new additions sound great. Especially the Render Tree. Can't wait to see what else you've got in store.

Good job on the compression as well. Did you use Techsmith?

Hi alphatron !

Thanks, yes, I think a lot of people are going to be VERY happy when they see what we have coming next -- so stay tuned :-)

Regarding the compression..

No....WE developed our own compression technology for delivery of our tutorials. Our player does not require any codecs, it's all native.

But yes, we do use Techsmith's camtaisa to record the initial movies, but they don't stay in that format for long.

It's all part of our "magic" process.

Cheers,

JRS
