I'm using 3dsmax 5.1
In the render dialog, under the Max default scanline a-buffer, there's an option to "Enable SSE"
All the help file says about it is:
Enable SSE—When on, rendering uses Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE). (SIMD stands for Single Instruction, Multiple Data.) Depending on the CPU (or CPUs) of your system, SSE can improve render time. Default=off.
Does anyone actually know what kind of CPU you need to benefit from this option?
